O papel do peso corporal como fator de influência sobre sintomas depressivos em crianças / The role of corporal weight as an influence factor on depression symptoms in children

Abstract


Sobrepeso e obesidade, conceituados pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) como acúmulo anormal ou excessivo de gordura que apresenta risco à saúde, são doenças crescentes em incidência e prevalência na população. Suas implicações influenciam a saúde do indivíduo como um todo. São fatores de risco para inúmeras doenças como diabetes mellitus tipo dois e certos tipos de neoplasias. Ademais, consegue afetar a saúde mental de seus portadores. Desse modo, o objetivo do presente estudo foi relacionar os sintomas da depressão com a obesidade/sobrepeso infantil e descrever os principais fatores mediadores da associação. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativas. As bases bibliográficas utilizadas foram Scientific Eletronic Librany Online (SCIELO), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Literatura Latino - Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e PubMED Central (PMC) e os descritores usados foram “Child”, “Pediatric obesity” e “Depression symptoms”. Apenas artigos publicados a partir de 2015 foram utilizados. Ao final da seleção, 25 artigos foram utilizados nesta revisão. A relação entre sobrepeso/obesidade e sintomas depressivos foi comprovada. Além disso, sexo, realização de atividades físicas, tempo de tela, qualidade de vida e sono foram os principais fatores que justificam essa relação. Nesse sentido, vê-se a importância do trabalho dos profissionais de saúde junto aos pais e seus filhos nos sentido de evitar a obesidade infantil, já que estes interferem em vários aspectos fisiológicos, emocionais, comportamentais dos indivíduos.
