Abstract

A pandemia causada pelo novo Coronavírus apresenta-se como uma crise de saúde mundial resultando em alterações na dinâmica social, distanciamento físico e restrições na convivência interpessoal, alterando o rito de inumação dos entes queridos. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo realizar um estudo de revisão sistemática, correlacionando a perda, o luto e a morte no contexto da COVID-19. Foram encontradas 75 publicações na base de dados BVS, 198 na base de dados PubMed e 56 resultados na Scopus, porém, apenas 18 ensaios atenderam aos critérios de inclusão. Os resultados revelaram que desde a pré-história há relatos de rituais fúnebres, reportando a importância desse culto para o processamento da perda humana. Os jovens demonstraram ter sua saúde mental mais prejudicada que as demais faixas etárias. Os profissionais da saúde caracterizaram-se como uma população mais vulnerável a esse trauma coletivo mundial pelo intenso esgotamento psicológico vivenciado. Foi observado que a COVID-19 está privando à oportunidade de um epílogo de morte efetivo, e suas inúmeras perdas desencadearam um estado de luto patológico. Os achados ensejam a adoção de estratégias visando amparar melhor os sujeitos envolvidos em luto pré-perda ou enlutados, assimilando as adversidades psicoemocionais proporcionadas pela pandemia.
