Abstract

Neste estudo são descritos itens alimentares, parasitas e plásticos recuperados em conteúdo estomacal de carcaças de aves marinhas recolhidas em praias do estado do Rio de Janeiro. As dez carcaças analisadas foram recolhidas entre 2009 e 2010, e pertenciam as espécies oceânicas Calonectris borealis (n = 4), Puffinus puffinus (n = 3), P. gravis (n = 1) e Sterna hirundo (n = 1), e a espécie costeira Anous stolidus (n = 1). As presas identificadas nos conteúdos estomacais incluíram os cefalópodes Argonauta nodosa, Doryteuthis plei e representantes da ordem Oegopsina, e os peixes ósseos Porichthys porossissimus e Stellifer sp. Helmintos do filo Nematoda foram recuperados em dois conteúdos estomacais de C. borealis e em A. stolidus. Fragmentos de plásticos rígidos e flexíveis foram registrados em C. borealis (n = 2) e P. gravis. A presença de algumas espécies de presas sugere o aproveitamento do descarte de pescarias na alimentação das aves marinhas. Os fragmentos plásticos recuperados nos conteúdos estomacais reforçam que a poluição por rejeitos sólidos no ambiente marinho é uma questão de conservação que afeta esses vertebrados.
