Abstract

INTRODUCÃO: A hipertensão arterial sistêmica (HAS) é um problema de saúde pública dada a sua alta prevalência, extensos fatores de risco e dificuldade de promover controle. OBJETIVO: Investigar os mecanismos fisiológicos envolvidos no controle pressórico, correlacionando aos fatores de desequilíbrio que culminam no desenvolvimento da HAS. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, exploratória-descritiva, realizada no período de junho de 2020 a março de 2021, utilizando as bases de dados on-line, por meio do uso dos descritores: “doença coronariana”, “hipertensão arterial”, “regulação” e “fisiopatologia”, nas línguas portuguesa e inglesa. Foram inclusos trabalhos originais, sendo excluídos resumos de congresso, dissertações ou teses. Os dados foram discorridos, em textos contínuo, seguindo o delineamento da caracterização da hipertensão arterial sistêmica e os sistemas fisiológicos envolvidos no controle pressórico. RESULTADOS: A HAS é uma doença crônica, de etiologia multifatorial, desencadeada pelo desequilíbrio dos sistemas cardiovascular, renal, nervoso e endócrino, sendo caracterizados hipertensos cujos valores de pressão arterial sistólica e diastólica estão acima de 140 por 90 mmHg, respectivamente. A HAS desencadeia lesões de órgão-alvos, estando diretamente envolvida no desequilíbrio do tônus vascular, podendo culminar em disfunções secundárias, tais como: acidente vascular encefálico e infarto agudo do miocárdio. CONCLUSÃO: Compreender o processo fisiopatológico torna-se imprescindível como estratégia para promover o controle dos níveis pressóricos, possibilitando novas estratégia de intervenção precoce, bem como no desenvolvimento de meios terapêuticos.
