Abstract


Introdução: E. faecalis é uma bactéria Gram-positiva multirresistente a antibióticos que possui uma vasta capacidade de transferir genes de resistência, em grande parte através da conjugação de plasmídeos responsívos a feromônios, sendo o pCF10 um dos mais estudados até o momento.Objetivo: Analisar a iniciação da conjugação mediada pelo plasmídeo pCF10, bem como os sistemas de regulação do plasmídeo e implicações fenotípicas da transferência de genes relacionados ao aumento da virulência e resistência a antibióticos em E. faecalis. Conclusão: O plasmídeo pCF10 pode carrear genes que codificam resistência a antibióticos e fatores de virulência intra e inter espécies bacterianas, particularmente, elevando o  risco de infecções por E. faecalis e a problemática do surgimento de micro-organismos multirresistente.
