Abstract

A hipertensão arterial sistêmica é uma condição clínica crônica com alta prevalência. O tratamento farmacológico pode causar efeitos adversos (EAs) nos pacientes. O objetivo desse trabalho foi investigar os EAs em hipertensos tratados farmacologicamente. Trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal, descritivo, realizado em um ambulatório em Salvador-Bahia. Dos 57 pacientes, 75,4% (43) eram do sexo feminino e 52,6 % (30) são negros. As médias de idade, Pressão Arterial Sistólica (PAS), Pressão Arterial Diastólica (PAD) e do número de anti-hipertensivos (AHs) foram, respectivamente 63,7 (dp=11,4), 132,1 (dp=16,01), 81,7 (dp=14,1) e 2,2 (dp=0,9). Não houve diferença entre os sexos quanto ao número de EAs (p=0,827) e entre idade e EAs (p=0,999). Houve associação entre o número de EAs e o número de AHs utilizados (p=0,001) e entre a PAS e EAs (p=0,007). Fraqueza foi o EA mais relatado por pacientes que usavam combinação com mais de dois AHs em relação às combinações com menos de dois AHs (p=0,008). O uso de hidroclorotiazida (HCT) e atenolol combinados a outros AHs esteve mais associado à tontura em relação as combinações que incluíam apenas um ou nenhum desses dois fármacos (p=0,010). Nas combinações que continham HCT e anlodipino houve mais relatos de cefaleia (p=0,045), tontura (p=0,004), fraqueza (p=0,001) e náuseas (p=0,045) em comparação com combinações que continham apenas um ou nenhum desses dois AHs. O uso de HCT combinada com outros AHs mostrou associação com os relatos de fraqueza (p=0,041) e tontura (p=0,012), quando comparada às combinações sem esse medicamento.
