Papel da nutrição no processo de destoxificação / The role of nutrition in the detoxification process

Abstract


Estamos expostos diariamente a compostos potencialmente tóxicos como poluentes, medicamentos e aditivos alimentares.  A destoxificação realizada pelo organismo busca reduzir os impactos negativos desses xenobióticos, através de mecanismos que biotransformam e eliminam essas toxinas. Estudos recentes vêm evidenciando o papel da nutrição na otimização das vias metabólicas envolvidas no processo de destoxificação.  Desta maneira, através de uma revisão de literatura, este trabalho objetiva demonstrar a importância dos nutrientes, alimentos e seus compostos bioativos no suporte à destoxificação, abordando a influência destes na modulação direta ou como cofator das diferentes fases desse processo.
