Abstract

Neste artigo estudamos a correlação entre as notas finais e a quantidade de faltas dos alunos calouros de um curso de Bacharelado em Sistemas de Informação. Apesar de parecer evidente que um número maior de aulas assistidas por um aluno deveria ser acompanhada de uma melhor nota final, a situação real é mais complicada e resultados positivos e negativos têm sido encontrados por vários pesquisadores. Neste trabalho mostramos que se aumentarmos o tempo de análise de notas e faltas de uma mesma disciplina, podemos encontrar tanto correlações significativas quanto não-significativas. Isso sugere que as correlações entre notas e faltas não é uma característica inerente as disciplinas estudadas e são fortemente afetadas pelo perfil da turma e pela metodologia adotada pelo professor.
