Abstract

Introdução: o transplante renal é a melhor opção terapêutica para indivíduos com Doença Renal Crônica por promover maior sobrevivência e qualidade de vida. Todavia, as infecções pós-transplante renal são comuns e representam um importante causa de morbimortalidade. Objetivo: estabelecer a prevalência de complicações infecciosas após o primeiro ano de transplante renal e o perfil dos transplantados no município de Chapecó/SC. Métodos: estudo longitudinal, retrospectivo e descritivo que analisou a prevalência de infecções em 87 receptores de transplante renal durante o primeiro ano de acompanhamento. Os transplantes ocorreram entre janeiro de 2013 e dezembro de 2017. Resultados: Eventos infecciosos foram observados em 49 (56,3%) pacientes no total de 96 vezes. O número médio de episódios infecciosos entre pacientes com pelo menos um episódio foi de 1,9. As complicações infecciosas mais prevalentes foram infecção do trato urinário inferior (48,4%), infecção do trato urinário superior (11,6%), infecção de vias aéreas superiores (9,5%) e infecção do trato gastrointestinal (6,3%). Conclusão: complicações infecciosas apresentam prevalência elevada no primeiro ano de acompanhamento após o transplante. A principal foi a infecção do trato urinário, sendo os principais agentes etiológicos: Escherichia coli e citomegalovírus (CMV).
