Prevalência de transtornos mentais comuns e qualidade de vida de universitários durante a pandemia COVID-19 / Prevalence of common mental disorders and quality of life of university students during the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

O presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar o impacto da pandemia COVID-19 na saúde mental e qualidade de vida de estudantes universitários. Trata-se de uma pesquisa observacional, com o delineamento transversal, a amostra foi composta por 351 universitários, sendo 65,5% do gênero feminino e 34,5% do gênero masculino. Foram incluídos todos os respondentes que declararam ser estudantes universitários, com idade igual ou superior a 18 anos e concordantes em responder o questionário assinando o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. Aproximadamente 91% da amostra era de instituição de ensino superior privada, 73,2% afirmaram ter uma QV boa e 73,5% sentia-se preocupado e/ou ansioso de forma moderada a intensa. Em relação ao diagnóstico de transtorno mental 7,4%, 30,8% e 4% afirmaram terem depressão, ansiedade e estresse, respectivamente. Já quando avaliado pelos questionários de saúde mental a prevalência de depressão, ansiedade e estresse foram, 12,3%, 28,5% e 54,4%, respectivamente. As pessoas que possuem a autoavaliação da QV ruim têm, aproximadamente, 3 vezes mais chance de ter sintomas de transtornos mentais comuns (X2-12,556; p=0,000; Odds-2,792 (IC95% 1,559-4,998). Quando avaliada a QV pelo questionário Whoqol-bref, os resultados mostraram que o risco existe, porém, um pouco menos, com aproximadamente, 2 vezes de sintomas de transtornos mentais quando classificada como ruim (X2-4,369; p=0,042; Odds-1,675 (IC95% 1,030-2,723). O impacto da pandemia na saúde mental ainda está obscuro, muitos estudos tem trazido informações do início da pandemia, demonstrando o aumento do número de pessoas com sofrimento mental, principalmente, pelas incertezas e medo da pandemia de COVID-19.
