Abstract

A obesidade infantil é um problema crescente a nível mundial e um fator de risco para persistência da obesidade na vida adulta e desenvolvimento de doenças crônicas. Conhecer a microbiota intestinal (MI) na primeira infância é importante, uma vez que alguns gêneros específicos se correlacionam com o ganho de peso, e a maior mudança no perfil da MI ocorre nos primeiros anos de vida. No presente trabalho, as mudanças da MI infantil do nascimento aos 5 anos de idade serão expostas e esmiuçadas. Objetivo: Esta revisão integrativa tem o objetivo de apresentar a produção científica atual sobre o perfil da microbiota intestinal na primeira infância relacionando-a à obesidade infantil. Método: Os descritores “microbiota intestinal”, “obesidade”, “crianças”, “gut microbiota”, “obesity” e “children” foram utilizados na busca de artigos das bases de dados: Biblioteca Virtual SciELO; ScienceDirect; MEDLINE e LILACS. A coleta dos dados ocorreu entre os meses de outubro de 2020 e abril de 2021. Os seguintes critérios de inclusão foram adotados: texto completo (livre acesso); dos tipos artigo original e de revisão publicados nos anos de 2015 a 2021, em português e inglês. Os critérios de exclusão adotados foram: monografias; livros; trabalho de conclusão de curso; resumos, teses e dissertações. Resultados: 325 trabalhos foram avaliados, entretanto, apenas 42 trabalhos obedeceram aos critérios de inclusão, sendo submetidos à revisão e inclusão nos parágrafos. Conclusão: A microbiota intestinal infantil sofre mudanças significativas nos primeiros 3 anos de vida, iniciando antes do nascimento, influenciada por transmissão vertical, sexo biológico do indivíduo, tipo de parto, amamentação, prebióticos, probióticos, idade, obesidade, e principalmente com a alimentação. Esses estudos indicam que quanto mais precoce a promoção de um estilo de vida saudável juntamente com uma abordagem dietética favorável ao equilíbrio da MI, maiores seriam os benefícios para a saúde da população. Novos estudos podem contribuir para que, em um futuro próximo, além de prevenir doenças, seja possível utilizar os conhecimentos sobre a MI como terapêutica para as mais diversas comorbidades.
