Câncer de Mama no Homem: uma Revisão Narrativa/ Breast Cancer in Man: a Narrative Review

Abstract


O câncer de mama masculino é uma patologia rara e com poucas publicações disponíveis. Apresenta suas próprias particularidades, porém algumas características são comuns ao câncer de mama feminino. Assim, muito do que se sabe atualmente sobre diagnóstico e tratamento é extrapolado a partir do conhecimento sobre o acometimento no sexo feminino. O quadro clínico típico é marcado pelo surgimento de uma nodulação indolor, em geral em região retro areolar. A investigação da nodulação ocorre através da mamografia e da ultrassonografia mamária. O tratamento baseia-se na intervenção cirúrgica através da mastectomia e na hormonioterapia adjuvante. Esta revisão traz um resumo das principais evidências científicas acerca dos temas de: epidemiologia, fatores de risco, quadro clínico, diagnóstico, tratamento e prognóstico do câncer de mama masculino.
