Abstract


A gastroenterite aguda pode ser definida como um quadro composto por diarreia de início muito rápido, pode também estar composto ou não por náuseas e vômitos sendo que esses sintomas não são obrigatórios. A avaliação clínica de um paciente pediatrico com gastroenterite deve ser pautada principalmente em buscar sinais de desidratação e repercussões clínicas dessas perdas seja ela causada por vômitos ou por diarreia. A conduta cínica é fundamentada em medidas suportivas, reposição de volume e reavaliação constante, sendo fundamental orientar os pais ou responsável sobre sinais de piora clinica no momento da alta hospitalar. Os planos de hidratação são fundamentados de acordo com o grau de desidratação do paciente sendo eles o A, B e C.
