Uso de equipamentos de proteção individual em tempos de pandemia: revisão bibliométrica / Use of personal protection equipment in pandemic times: bibliometric review

Abstract


O SARS-COV-2 foi identificado pela primeira vez na China em dezembro de 2019, rapidamente alastrou-se mundialmente, causando grande impacto na sociedade, introduzindo circunstâncias e desafios únicos em relação ao uso de Equipamento de Proteção Individual (EPI). Objetivou-se identificar na produção científica os fatores que potencializam e/ou dificultam a adesão do EPI por profissionais de saúde durante a pandemia da Covid-19 e as possíveis recomendações sobre o uso na prática em serviço. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, do tipo bibliométrico realizado entre maio e junho de 2020, foram inclusos textos online completos, publicados entre janeiro a junho de 2020, indexados nas bases de dados: BVS, PUBMED, EMBASE e SCOPUS. Após exclusão dos duplicados 19 artigos compuseram a amostra final do estudo, estes foram analisados através de frequência simples e relativa, seguido de estatística descritiva. Em maio, houve o maior número de publicações (10). Majoritariamente os estudos foram publicados na língua inglesa. Em relação à temática, destacou-se as recomendações sobre o uso de EPI (14), seguida pela escassez de EPI (10). Os estudos apontam que a disponibilização de EPI e o treinamento dos profissionais de saúde são indispensáveis, especialmente durante a pandemia da Covid-19. O uso adequado é imprescindível para garantir a sua eficiência e concomitantemente a diminuição da contaminação entre os trabalhadores da área da saúde, garantindo a segurança na prestação de cuidados.
