Abstract

A retinopatia da prematuridade (ROP) é uma doença vasoproliferativa da retina de etiologia multifatorial, que ocorre em recém-nascidos prematuros. Atualmente, é uma das principais causas de cegueira infantil. Nesse cenário, a proposta de prevenção e identificação precoce se tornou primordial para evitar sua principal consequência. Assim, estudar as diretrizes de triagem em diferentes cenários (países desenvolvidos e subdesenvolvidos) traz, neste artigo, as pequenas diferenças que possam ser melhor estudadas futuramente a fim de aprimorar a prevenção da ROP.
