Abstract

A expectativa de vida da população mundial tem aumentado, consequentemente, há mais idosos e isso eleva a prevalência de declínio cognitivo por causa da senescência. Queixas de perdas da memória na atenção primária à saúde são comuns nessa população, porém, este nível de saúde é carente de informações sobre a cognição das pessoas. Neste sentido, foram aplicados nove testes neuropsicológicos para fazer o rastreio da cognição. A amostra foi de 45 pacientes que não apresentam nenhuma comorbidade clínica previamente conhecida e não fazem uso de nenhum medicamento. Os resultados mostraram que 73,34% dos pacientes apresentavam comprometimento cognitivo leve (CCL), 13,34% normais, 6,67% demência e 6,67% declínio cognitivo subjetivo (DCS). Isso representa que é comum a apresentação de CCL nesta população, assim sendo, este rastreio é muito importante para reconhecer a prevalência da cognição na atenção primária à saúde, possibilitando a intervenção adequada para evitar o avanço do declínio subjetivo e das demências.
