Abstract

Introdução: As planárias são vermes achatados, possuindo vida livre e não parasitária, com alta capacidade de regeneração, em razão da distribuição de neoblastos, em todo o corpo. Elas possuem dois ocelos, simétricos bilateralmente, compostos por um globo ocular que  contém uma camada de células com fotopigmentos e neurônios bipolares fotorreceptores, em comunicação com a área visual do cérebro.Objetivo: Revisou-se a ação dos genes e dos neoblastos envolvidos na regeneração dos ocelos na planária Schmidtea mediterranea, com ênfase na sequência espacial e temporal, até a sua reconstituição morfológica e fisiológica. Métodos: Fez-se uma revisão sistemática e estruturada de artigos veiculados no National Center for BiotechnologyInformation (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov), no período de junho de 2008 até junho de 2018, com adoção de critérios de inclusão, obteve-se 196 artigos, e com os critérios de exclusão, 45 artigos originais. Resultados e Discussão:Discutiram-se dois tópicos, em diferentes tipos de lesão: a regeneração da arquitetura morfológica dos oceloseo restabelecimento funcional dessa visão. Esse processo regenerativo é constituído por genes, que controlam os neoblastos, e genes presentes no tecido muscular, que são responsáveis pelas coordenadas posicionais.Conclusão: Sugere-se maior pesquisa na interação desses genes presentes na regeneração dos ocelos, inclusive com abordagem de técnicas da genômica funcional. Essa compreensão, baseada na biologia molecular e na bioinformática, será fundamental para avanços na medicina regenerativa em humanos.
